About Us

We are a community-powered platform dedicated to transparency, accountability, and justice in law enforcement. Founded on the principle that the public deserves to know the truth about those sworn to protect and serve, we provide an independent, public-facing Brady List that is open to everyone, not just government officials or selected personnel.

What Makes Us Different?

  • Independence: We are not affiliated with any government agency, police department, or prosecutor’s office. Our purpose is to serve the public and the cause of justice, not institutional interests.
  • Open Submissions: Anyone—community members, attorneys, journalists, victims, or witnesses—can submit reports of officer misconduct, regardless of background or affiliation.
  • Strict Vetting: Every submission undergoes a thorough vetting process to ensure that all information published is credible, accurate, and fair. False or malicious reports are never tolerated.
  • Transparency: Both our processes and our data are open and accessible. Our criteria, review methods, and listing/removal processes are publicly available, and we invite scrutiny and input from all.
  • Empowering the Community: By giving the community a direct voice in police accountability, we help expose patterns of misconduct that might otherwise go unnoticed or unreported in closed systems.

Values

  • Truth: We are committed to rigorous standards of verification and fair reporting.
  • Justice: We believe that real justice is only possible when information is accessible and no one is above scrutiny.
  • Community: We welcome everyone’s participation and promote collective oversight in building a better justice system.

Background

This project was inspired by a traumatic event that occured during a traffic stop of our first complainant in Columbus, MS. The complainant had a very aggressive interaction with an officer for what is confirmed to be a benign traffic stop. Upon further research, we were able to discover and validate that the officer should not have been in uniform to start with as a former wrongful death defendant whom most would simply consider a murderer hiding behind police uniform. There were no checks and balances with regard background information in place for such an important position.

Our Mission

To foster a safer, more just society by making officer misconduct visible, actionable, and subject to community oversight—through an open, non-governmental platform where every submission is welcomed and every case is rigorously verified.

What Sets Our Project Apart: A Truly Open Brady List

Our Distinctive Approach

Our project is truly unique because:

  • Not Government-Controlled: Fully independent from any government or law enforcement agency.
  • Open Submissions: Anyone—community members, victims, lawyers, journalists, or witnesses—can submit complaints or information.
  • Radical Transparency: Our criteria, submission process, and review policies are fully public.
  • Strict Vetting Process: To maintain accuracy and fairness, every submission is carefully reviewed according to established standards before inclusion. This helps prevent false or malicious claims from being published.
  • Empowering the Community: By allowing broad participation combined with careful vetting, we promote accountability without sacrificing fairness or due process.

Why This Matters?

  • More Voices, More Oversight: Broad community input ensures concerns aren’t suppressed by institutional interests.
  • Balanced Accountability: Our strict vetting process safeguards against misinformation, ensuring listings are credible and fair.
  • Building Public Trust: Transparency and participation drive genuine change and prevent repeat misconduct.
  • Accountability You Can See: Unlike closed government lists, our open model guarantees that officer misconduct is publicly documented and accessible.
  • "A national database that tracks incidents of misconduct among law enforcement officers is shut down by the Trump Administration. The Department of Justice (DOJ) says the website hosting the National Law Enforcement Accountability Database (NLEAD) is no longer active and agencies can no longer query or add data to it. It was decommissioned after President Trump revoked President Biden’s executive order that created the database" ~FedAgent
