Legal Disclaimer and Editorial Policy

At The Open Brady List, our mission is to promote public accountability by publishing accurately vetted reports related to misconduct by public officials, including but not limited to law enforcement officers. We act in accordance with all applicable laws and uphold the highest standards of factual, responsible reporting. We are committed to transparency, due process, and the ethical presentation of public information.

Legality of Our Content

All content published on this website is:

  • Thoroughly vetted prior to publication to ensure credibility, factual accuracy, and lawful sourcing;
  • Restricted to matters of public interest involving individuals acting in their official capacities as law enforcement personnel, elected officials (including mayors), or other public servants;
  • Protected under the First Amendment, which safeguards the right to publish true, lawfully obtained, and relevant information on issues of public concern.

We expressly acknowledge that The Open Brady List is a community accountability project and not an official Brady List maintained by any prosecutorial or governmental agency. While it is inspired by principles underlying Brady v. Maryland and Giglio v. United States, which emphasize the importance of truthfulness and credibility in public service, our list is an independent civic initiative designed for transparency and public awareness.
